Original T34 captured Russian tank metal pressings that where supposed to been used to make the medal but the tank metal was unsuited for the purpose and instead a small amount of melted metal from the tank was mixed with nickle silver to produce the final medals.
This is a first striking of the original medals from the tank metal.
